March has been another busy month with most of the team out on customer sites delivering projects.
Lee and Craig returned to New York to continue work on the large data centre consolidation project. Unlike last time, fitness-fanatic Craig found himself a local gym and has all his protein powders shipped over to his hotel, so he was a very happy bunny!
Andy also had a great meeting with some senior people at Dell: Laurent Binetti, Bill O’Shea and Mark Hiley. The purpose of the meeting was to talk through our relationship and what our ambitions are for the future. We value our relationship with Dell and are working on a number of joint initiatives at the moment, so it was a fantastic opportunity to showcase this.
Andy, Martin, Toby, Dan and Adam, along with our Dell Account Manager, Dave Duerden, returned to Ireland to meet with Dell. Despite the plane getting delayed and diverted to another airport, it didn’t dampen their spirits and they still had a fantastic and productive time. Andy’s promised to write a dedicated blog to this adventure, so check back soon for more details.
Everyone in the practice is so dedicated, so I think it’s important to strike a good work/fun balance, otherwise you can start to feel tired and deflated. This month we decided to hold an Easter Eggstravaganza. Together with our sister company, Foundation SP, we had a chocolate feast in the boardroom. Several members of the team had baked some delicious cakes at home for the celebration, and we set up a Nerf gun shooting gallery; everyone had five bullets to score as many points as possible. The overall winner was Foundation SP Practice Director Stuart Evans.
We’re also really excited to have another new starter joining the team this week. Louise Adams joins as a Project Manager and will be responsible for tracking projects and organising resourcing for the practice.
And finally, April is set to be another busy, but exciting month. As well as our on-going projects, one of our Client Managers, Dan, just revealed that he has a fantastic 200 day engagement in the pipeline. And with two team members getting married in May, we have two office hen parties – ‘Purple Day’ and ‘Mexican Day’ – and a celebration of Craig and Lee’s amazing efforts – ‘New York, New York’ – to look forward to.
